Burnt or dead
Erica burnt my teakettle. Eh, i can get another. But it looks so sad!
A roommate in the Goat House left it on the flame for too long, and did the same thing to it. Her name? Alexis. :-)
Anyhow, that's what made me decide to go with this model (the orange one, obviously) -- it's got a built-in whistle that lifts when you lift the handle. The whistle got kind of flaky recently, but now I get to start all over!
Either I blocked out the memory of burning your kettle once or you had a roommate in the Goat House named Alexis who I don't remember hearing about. Anyway, I think your burnt kettle looks retro and artistic in that shot. But I suppose kettles are meant for other things than found art, huh?

You don't have good luck with kettles :(
Specifically, roommates + kettles. But they always buy me replacements! :)
what happened to the other orange kettle? the one you got for your birthday in... 2002?

Yeah, you're supposed to boil water in them. :-P
And no, kiddo, you didn't burn my kettle! It was the crazy Alexis, who was into Bikram Yoga, with whom I lived in Berkeley for a few months.
