That's just washed, fresh fruit, with its own juices on it! Some of it I pre-chopped and put in a bowl in the fridge for a couple of hours while Sara & I went to a movie; but the glossy stuff on top, Sara & I had just chopped right before I snapped this photo.
This isn't even the full cobbler -- the topping went on later. And damn, was it good!

What is responsible for making the toppings so glossy? Were the original juices drained and recycled? Or another technique?
